"You have to see it to
believe it. That's what they say. It's the opposite. You have to
believe
in something to see it. Can you seen them, Nora? Go on.
Try. Look.
Not with your eyes. With your heart. Believe." –
Tobias Tidemann
Why watch this?
There is something fantastical and allegorical about trolls.
They appear when humanity needs a reminder or our horrible
actions.
Plot Summary: When
an explosion in the Norwegian mountains awakens an ancient troll
from its slumber, it begins a rampage towards Oslo, the capital.
A paleontologist, Nora Tidemann, along with a diverse group of
scientists and officials, is tasked with stopping the creature.
They must find a way to stop the colossal creature, a being
thought only to exist in folklore, from destroying the city.

Dad's Preview:
This engrossing Norwegian flick impressed me from its
opening scenes. A drilling operation awakens a gigantic
troll, who escapes and somehow wanders the landscape
undetected. This film eventually gives a great troll
origin story, and helps us understand why mankind wiped
them out, and why they keep fighting for our planet. |
