Why watch this? A scientist
has a grand idea to conquer starvation - grow giant
animals - Oops!
Plot Summary:
In an isolated Arizona desert laboratory, a scientist is
experimenting with a miracle nutrient intended to solve world
hunger. However, this experimental compound has a dangerous side
effect: causing abnormally rapid growth in the organisms it's
tested on. When a tarantula used in the experiments escapes, it
continues to grow to a terrifying size, threatening the nearby
town and its inhabitants.

Dad's Preview: When an
acclaimed man of science feeds livestock bio-engineered
growth nutrients, you know this is going to end badly.
The film-makers combined both actual spider footage, and
some very creepy spider practical effects. The result is
a very good sci-fi B-movie as local authorities must
unravel the mystery, then find a desperate way to stop
the giant, man-eating arachnid. Where's The Hulk when
you need him. |
