"Isn't there anything
inside you that tells you it isn't right? You want me to take
you up to the top
of the mountain in the sight of God so you can
pick the pockets of dead people?" -
Zachary Teller
Why watch this? It's
plot is as stunning as the film's Alps setting.
Plot Summary:
After a passenger plane crashes high on Mont Blanc, a greedy
younger brother pressures his older, skilled mountaineer sibling
to help him loot the wreckage. The elder brother reluctantly
agrees, but their climb becomes a test of wills and morality
when they discover a lone survivor amidst the debris. Their
differing reactions to the situation and the treacherous descent
that follows reveal their true natures.
Dad's Preview:
This is one of
Tracy's finest roles as a man of principal whose little brother
a scheming wretch. His kind, strong character gives his little
brother every chance to redeem himself, and a real brother
would. The scenery is breathtaking, and a
large portion of the movie was filmed on location in the Alps.
Climbing experts thought the film was a bit hokey, but it is
exciting, nonetheless.
