Plot Summary:
Shortly after arriving in San Francisco, retired detective Nick
Charles and his wife Nora are dragged into investigating the
sudden disappearance of Nora's cousin's husband. As the search
unravels a web of secret affairs and blackmail, the missing
persons case quickly escalates into a series of shocking
murders.

Dad's Preview: The chemistry
between Powell and Loy was magical. They were a
well-to-do married couple who drank, had a lot of laughs
and solved mysteries together. That's peachy. This
second Thin Man film is a very good comedy
mystery, and that's not just because James Stewart was
added to the cast. Every scene equally contributes to
solving the mystery and showing just how screwball this
duo behaved, be it at home chasing their dog Asta or
partying in a Chinese nightclub with a table full of
hooligans. It's funny, smart and addictive. I cannot
wait to watch the remaining films. |
